He said poor sleep was linked to depression, heart disease, strokes, lung disorders, traffic and industrial accidents, and divorce, yet sleep was largely ignored as an important aspect of health.
Dr Robert Meadows, a sociologist at the University of Surrey, said: “People actually feel that they sleep better when they are with a partner but the evidence suggests otherwise.”
He carried out a study to compare how well couples slept when they shared a bed versus sleeping separately.
Based on 40 couples, he found that when couples share a bed and one of them moves in his or her sleep, there is a 50% chance that their slumbering partner will be disturbed as a result.
Despite this, couples are reluctant to sleep apart, with only 8% of those in their 40s and 50s sleeping in separate rooms, the British Science Festival heard.

Tourists though are spending less.
When gold is cheap, it makes a good souvenir by which to remember Dubai and Arabia. When it is expensive, photographs of the souk may have to suffice.
Thanks to the economic crisis, many travellers have less money to spend in the first place.

In a separate development, officials in Tehran said President Ahmadinejad had cancelled his trip to an African Union summit in Libya.
Mr Ahmadinejad’s office did not give any reason for the decision.
Liverpool fan Michael Shields has walked free after being pardoned of the attempted murder of a barman in Bulgaria.
The 22-year-old student, from Liverpool, was convicted of carrying out the attack after his team’s win in the 2005 Champions League final.
Justice Secretary Jack Straw issued the royal pardon, saying that Mr Shields was “morally and technically innocent”.
Mr Shields’ parents, Michael Snr and Maria, were said to be “ecstatic”.
Mr Shields has now been reunited with his family, who have campaigned for his release since he was convicted of the attack in Varna.
Joey Graney, Mr Shields’ uncle, said the family would like to see the Bulgarian authorities re-open the case and for the “real culprit to be caught”.

Now come to the university. I discover that I have even less friends of the same sex than that of the opposite sex, and here “friends” means those with whom I have lots of things to talk about. My classmates in AD 0302 are all very individual and kind as well. But most of them could be acquaintance only. I respect (so long as they don’t bother me) but not like all of them. And on the contrast, it can’t be that all of them would like to make friends with me. So, my friends include: C, a competent, nice, lovely girl; L, a sensitive, clever, generous girl; X, a cute, easygoing, optimistic girl. L and X are my roommates for three years, and the days when we three walked all over the city are excellent memories. Others like J and Q are very accommodating and I quite like them.

What impressed me most in my childhood was a fight on the lawn of a village near ours. I don’t remember exactly how old was I at that time. Maybe it was ten or eleven. My two younger sisters, one of who was two years younger than me and another eight, followed me to the lawn and played there. Gradually, little buddies came one after another. They were all children from the nearby village. Some were my classmates, some were yet younger.
I can’t call to remembrance how the fight started. However, the girls did scrap with boys. It was no surprise for me to fight with them, because they had always taken me as a fighter, a strong fighter, and they liked to provoke me to fight, too. In the nature of things, I won, thought I also had blows all over my body. I beat all the boys who came near to me, with my fists and feet swinging crazily. However, when I came back to my younger sisters, I found them crying ceaselessly. And then strangely, I cried, too. How oddly children behave!

All human are in a big world. And the world consists of many small worlds. Every human has his own world, big or small. Every two worlds, like two circles, are separated, or intersectant, or tangent.
Every human has the curiosity to look into the worlds of those who are in his world. And the intensity grows as the people play more and more important roles in his world.
The separated state plays as an inessential one, whereas most people in the big world are in it. There is neither pain nor joy between two people in this state. They don’t affect each other directly in life or in mind. This is a harmonious state.

Concerning the fruits in the village, I would also like to talk about grape. My father had ever planted a green grape tree in front of our house. After several years it bore grapes! Years later more and more grapes appeared on the tree, and the vine became thicker and thicker. It was the only one in the village, so it was popular. Every year we would brought some to my grandmother’s; and when some distinguished visitor (who would give children big red packets) came they were treated our special delicious grape. I suggested planting more grape trees utilizing one piece of our farm land but my father didn’t adopt it. And the grape tree died a few years ago due to neglect of maintenance! What a shame!
Frankly speaking, my parents are not very good at farming. I had always thought that vegetables and fruit grew much better in other family’s land than in ours. However, we did do well in maintaining the pawpawand sugarcane.
Now being far away from my hometown, I often struggle in my mind for a long time to decide whether to buy the expensive fresh fruits. Oh, I miss the fruits in my hometown so much…

Lady-killer is something alike pain-killer. Take a lady for example,when a lady got a pain somewhere , she will get a pain-killer to ease herself. And when a lady is feeling lonely and bored, she maybe think about that someone can comfort her; and some handsome graceful gentle&cultivated guy will act the role the lady-killer.
In many lady’s minds, Lady-killer is indispensable to them. Yesterday a cyber friend told me she wanted to find someone to make friends. But he must be handsome and cool. I knew she wanted the Lady-killer. But concerning the girl I liked, I told her I liked the beautiful & cute one,and asked her whether she is . To my amazment, she bursted into fury and concluded :” I never thought that you are such a playboy like that. And I won’t make friends with a playboy!” I gasped with astonishment. Everyone favors the beautiful. Why can’t I? I’m not aware of it.
Lady-killer maybe a complex of youth. When we are in elder age, we will realise it ’s only a dispensible part in the life. By then, we will the interior and think little of the exterior.
